Who am I?

My name is Khaled Al Mutawa. I’m a mechanical engineering graduate student at NYU Tandon and a UC Davis alumnus. I’ve dabbled with CAD and done my fair bit of prototyping various projects. I like making projects that have a positive impact as well as projects that are just plain cool.

Right now, my master’s project involves designing and developing a rotating Sleep Pod Module (might change the name to the Gravity Lab Module) that simulates artificial gravity to maintain astronauts’ health and improve sleep quality in space. The module features a motorized rotating interior with a vibration-damping system. I’m almost finished with the research phase, so stay tuned for the prototyping phase!

Outside of academics/work, I like working on my lego city (I should post a picture of that here), I enjoy playing golf every weekend and reading in the park. I also love jazz and classical music!
